These yoga classes are specifically designed to coordinate with the workouts and training the athletes will be doing throughout the season. Using these sessions as a time for active recovery we work on flexibility in the quads, hamstrings and hip flexors, helping our athletes to stay injury free. We also build strength in the core muscles, bringing greater coordination and whole body strength which can assist in improving form, efficiency, and power. Yoga’s attention to breath awareness improves physical endurance and mental focus, in addition we will explore calming techniques which can be used to settle any nerves or stress during competition. The basics of nutrition and injury prevention will be discussed.
